Not exactly sure what’s going on in this scene. I understand the fire and the demon, but kinda confused about this scene beyond the ambulance.

I’m sorry, this man is in the field of psychology and he is DISAPPOINTED IN HIS PATIENT for seeing shit that isn’t there because it happened to be in a closet?!?

Oooh and we have returning magic… and NEW magic! Love to see this, and Murray’s introduction to her queer self.

I love the classic muppets humour here! It definitely takes after the (De Mattos translation of the) Leroux novel, with a side of Muppets-style hilarity. Lots of jokes that have made me chuckle.

I think there are some characters I really should brush up on, but overall it’s great so far!

It feels like the climax. Theres still 30% of the book left. Is this a mistake or does it really ramp up MORE than this?!

Did I learn anything in this reread? Maybe.

I just hope it’s things I can use in my own work, moving forward. This just cemented this book as a comp for what I’m working on. And I still love “Turtles All the Way Down”, on its own with its story of mental health, and its story of friendship; and for personal take-aways.

It’s been quite a while since I read this, but I think it might be a good comp for a project I’m working on. So gonna do a whole bunch of tabs on this read through. Also to see how my view has changed since last time. I recall loving the OCD rep but feeling the mystery was wrapped up strangely. I wonder if that opinion holds?

I love Enver so far! This really is capturing the Labyrinth vibes, and I’m quite enjoying it!

I’m not sure what STC genres my contemporary novel fits into (yet) but I am hopeful the beat sheet will (eventually) get me further toward the structure this story needs.

(I am getting ideas for STC genres my other stories may fit into, though! So that’s cool! Not touched the beat sheet for any of those, though.)

A lot more sex scenes to start the book than I expected. I genuinely thought we were going to get to the Labyrinth by now. Maybe I’m just impatient, though.

I love this interpretation of the “Labyrinth” plot so far. Still the same “wtf this isn’t fair” vibes from the MC, Nell. Just meeting what seems to be Enver now.

I look forward to seeing just how this unfolds. Loving all characters so far!!

Much better in paperback but I do find it curious to follow all the characters and action, even some thirty pages in! This is gonna be quite the world to learn about and follow… in the best way!

Decent so far. It feels like there’s a fair amount of “this is what happened in the last book” reminders and sprinkled in world building of what has happened between the last book and this book.

I’m very middle of the road about this book so far.
