I feel kinda bad for Garo, honestly. The kid wasn't scared of him before, but the look on his face when he ran? I probably shouldn't root for the hero-hunter, but come on, some of those guys are just asking for it.

OK, so not a perfect book - but there is much to love so far, and gut punches aplenty. Grief... I relate to how she describes it. I have never experienced the horror of her situation, but I have lost close loved ones to natural events, and the way she relays that pain hits me hard. "I can't French braid my hair..." because her mom would always do it. It's the little things that hurt the most.

I have seen this series recommended on numerous threads, yet I shied away from it as it was not finished yet, nor do I generally read contemporary, even RH. That said, I finally caved and wow - I am so glad I did! Just over half way done with the first now and it's giving me all the feels. Damaged girl in a new school/place who finds a group of guys who take her under their wing? It's a trope I'm a sucker for.

The plot is moving along at a decent pace, but I'm a bit annoyed by our FMC - what kind of groveling have we really seen? Ok, so it's been a month since he put a 'pause' on them then changed his mind - but she's already caving???!! Yeah, yeah, I get it, but that whole scene ticked me off to begin with, especially after all of his promises and surety. Ugh.

I like this… but I gotta ask, why doesn’t she apologize for being the one who makes the stupid decisions that got people hurt? I mean, Alex? That was all on her. I might have done the same, but seriously, her. And door? What was up with that?

I'm pretty sure I know who is behind the attacks.... that's going to hurt if I am right.

DNF #20% - just too much going on with little explanation. I am sure there are those that this writing style will appeal to, as there is nothing wrong with it, it just didn't strike me as approachable. Perhaps I will try again in the future.

Sex, lots and lots of sex. It's fun, but Carmen seems a bit over the top atm. Going to keep plucking along though.

44% in and I have to backtrack to Vinna's story, as I never read book 4, which is ON MY KINDLE! Not sure why I haven't finished that series, but from what I am reading here in Falon's tale.... the end of The Lost Sentinel saga will offer more understanding and lushness to the this world (though I'm sure you can read it without it, I'm just particular).

DNF @33% Will pick up again later, just wasn't in the mood for an overpowered FMC right out of the gate. Feels like a good story I'll enjoy when the mood strikes.

Amiah.... the angel we learned to dislike in Essie's story. I really do NOT want to like her, and seeing a story about her (where she actually GET SEBASTIAN!) is bothersome.... however.... Tessa Cole smacks it out of the way in Chapter 1... leading with subtle and not so subtle reasons that make you actually want to know ore about this misguided angel. *sigh* OK... I'll bite.

Started like an Indian Jones novel... but seems to have devolved into a mess. I'll probably return to this later, but for now... the descriptions are grating on me and the plot falling flat.

Amy has a way with words, but I AM starting to get tired of the way the guys in these plots are popping up, dividing, and falling to jealousy. Going to take a break and return to this series later.

Just finished book 1 in this 4 book collection. First Person, Multiple POV with witches and werewolves - aimed more at emotional impact than action. It was a feel good book, but not a MC like the blurb indicates. Still worth reading. On to Book2

At this point, I have finished 3 of the books in this large collection - and I need to step away for a moment and let it marinate in my mind before I finish. But I WILL finish it soon. I suppose I need a break as this is an emotionally intense compilation, with a trio of characters that find an honesty with each other that is lacking in most fiction - and certainly in real life. Vulnerable.
