I am 30% of the way through and 100% done. Last time I was this confused, disappointed and underwhelmed by a book, I read once a upon a broken heart. Alexis reminds me of the MC from it; mainly because she reacts to *everything* versus making the plot happen and her choices make no sense.

And the writing? I've read better prose on fanfiction.net and that's sad.

I can safely say I have never heard the myth of the 12 labors told like this and it's not a bad thing.

Kid still agrees Malfoy is a massive jerk.

Just realized despite liking the film as a kid that I never actually read this book. Boy was a lot lost in adaption.

Again, I'm promise dark romance and not getting much of either tbh.

Love the mystery but Dr. Brennan is a less compelling character here than in the TV show.

This is not the same Dr. Brennan from the TV show and that's not a bad thing. Also the science in this is amazingly detailed, if gory.

Child's first concern upon reading chapter one is to wonder where are Ron and Hermione. I had to explain the concept of summer time XD

For something branded as dark fantasy, I'm not getting a whole lot of the dark I was promised.

Hubby keeps suggesting Hagrid is the traitor, Kiddo replied loudly that Dad is wrong and he'll prove it when the book is over XD

The child declared "I don't like trolls" and why was Snape not with the other teachers when the troll came. Little kid is sniffing at the mystery like one of our dogs and it's adorable.

Also asked me who was meaner, Snape or Malfoy. I turned the question back on him and he thought hard and said "Snape cuz he was like *really* mean to Harry."

Just met Fluffy. Kid was SHOOK to learn the grubby package from an earlier chapter was at Hogwarts.

Kiddo has said Snape is "very mean" and doesn't think he should be a teacher.

I forgot about the attacker in this!

Theo has declared Draco Malofy mean and determined a way to handle people like him messing with your friends is "you could kill him". XD

Kiddo was excited to hear about magic wands and dragons.

Kiddo yelled "YES" upon learning Harry did in fact have magic.
