Stalin forced farmers into collectivized systems, taking a big cut of their crops as “tax” and making them work for the state instead of themselves. Stalin’s response was that collectivism was a success. You would disagree if you were a starving farmer.
I feel like we’re not that far off from that kind of logic now. Prices keep going up, but “we’re in the best economy” according to the President
