i can't believe this book came out in 2019 and it took me basically 5 years to get back to it, even after marking it on my calendar and everything. its been worth the journey and nostalgia for sure though

i needed this as a pick me up. i needed something so i could kick my feet and giggle.

i see myself

Informational while still being entertaining. A genuine way to learn new things about evolution. kind of sucks that lilly isn’t in ap bio anymore she would have actually learned if from this book

silly but informational

i think the first time i read this i completely missed how the whole star crossed lover thing was a facade. i think my naive 5th grade brain wasn’t able to recognize that Katniss’s feelings weren’t completely genuine or understood. i thought the whole thing was very real. now reading this Katniss’s and Peeta’s interactions are veiled with something new and even manipulative or cynical.

this is my second read of the hunger games. i read it for the first time late elementary school, early middle school and had a HUUUGE hunger games phase. we talking about all the books and all the movies were a big deal to young me. recently decided to read it again because i saw a video of someone on youtube reacting to the movies which made my love for the series start all over again

i really like this book so far. the characters are all so interesting. war truly changed their lives

i really wish that the book wasn’t so plot driven and instead focused more on the characters. like: jace is stuck in silent city! oh no, oh wow now they’re at the seelie court, oop jace is locked up again, etc.. i feel like the constant movement is hard to push through as a reader and i wish it could have more scenes with just character interactions because those are the best moments in the story.

it’s funny how the first set time i read this i HATED simon! now i just feel soooo bad for him :((

as much as i like simon and clary together... they are better friends

simon, jace, and clary moments are the best because they are sooo funny
