I picked this book up years ago. I started it several times, but never got far into it because I just didn't make time for it. I give reading a little higher priority these days, plus I have a digital copy off it on my phone that makes it convenient to read it anytime.

It had been a while since I saw the movie, so the ending was a surprise to me.

It's going fast. I think it's a shorter book because it's a novelization of that movie. Not a lot has been added beyond the events in the movie.

Started yesterday. I've watched this movie twice. I wish I could read a story from which the movie was derived, but there isn't one. Only this novelization of the movie is available. That's good enough for me.

I finished this book yesterday. Some parts of this story were so bleak it was depressing. I kept with it, though. I wish the story would continue.

Many parts of this book are heavy, but this part is a real downer.

Some very good twists, turns, and surprises.

I'm up to the part about sending a person in the probe of the Staircase Project. As I've been reading this book, I see that Netflix's "3 Body Problem" series draws a little from each of the three books.

Looking forward to seeing how the first chapter fits in with the rest of the story and the previous books.

Quite a surprising ending. I think the only thing I really don't like about this book is the fate of the fleets. No spoilers!

It has some slow spots, but when there are surprises, they're big!

Some very exciting action scenes in this book. I also found some humorous sections. I thought it was interesting that Herbert glossed over some details, but it was fine because they didn't matter.

Started on 19 February.

Herbert's writing style in this book is different from that in the previous three books. It felt like an easier read and I completed it sooner than I expected.
