The first draft of the book James Patterson wrote was published…. Or at least that’s what it feels like with 1000 uses of the word “said”, many grammar mistakes, and lack of explanations it set ups to make the reader truly believe that some actions (even deaths) were necessary. I was very excited about this and just disappointed that it wasn’t Crichton but I suppose I didn’t hate it just not the best exp.

I liked this book more than the movie. Read w Stephen and the audiobook. Yay

Also! I like how the characters do seem to have different voices which is awesome for when they’re narrating in first person and it’s so much fun. Also I’m here for the relationship gags because it’s funny and I will take no criticism for it lol. I also like how Arturo and Alanik aren’t rushed into a relationship in the short story so yay

i dreaded a boring rescue for rinakin, but it was perfect and it was fast and it was nice action for Arturo so BS and JP really know when to switch the pace/setting/convo dynamics in the book.

Also let me just say I’ve always liked Arturo so so much. He is smart and not a stereotype in a way that is true to being in a new planet but also he is kind and smart and did have a cute relationship until it ended.

WHAT THE HECK THE ENDING JUST AHHH. Last short story didn’t have as big of a shocker plot twist but THIS?! Some things yes predictable like fake Cobb after we confirmed they stole tech, but bruh the last twenty pages were just off the charts unexpected action-packed and shocking.
I like how the story didn’t get boring. Like I was dreading a long sort of time before they were able to rescue rinakin for ex, but

I liked how Fm+Rig were part of the story while the story was heavily focused on the slugs AND still had a lot of action for a novella. It was so cute and interesting to read overall and I am so glad I picked it back up after not being aaas interested in the beginning. I will admit that I LOVED the interactions between the flight (squad goals are my fav) and I can’t wait for spensa to be back w then all!

I really liked this!
- Jorgen is so cute. I like that though he was against treating the slugs like animals, he changed as the book went on. it was nice to see him not be this cloud of negativity and the villain, but rather someone who is learning about the world.
- I don’t care if the romance between Rig and FM is “too fast”, I thought it was perfect. The awkwardness, FM’s inside thoughts of his cuteness

That ending… who’ll I recover? Gahh

I liked it! Jorgen x spensa is official so im happy. i really wanted her to go back to Detritus but oh well. I think once I accepted that the book would take place somewhere else I enjoyed it more. but now im in a reading slump cry. the ending was FIRE tho. I mean chapter after the epilogue?! genius

Amazing. Loved it. I made my boyfriend read it and he loves it too. I ATE THIS UP and that’s enough for five stars, even if world building was kinda funny… like we find out about how they get their electricity page 400+. Likes jorgen. Bim dying is the other love interest being literally killed off lol cry

Abt this series is that. Amie and Jay are the BEST at writing likable flawed complex character

Literally what are these caps Idek I just really liked it and I am so happy I was able to read the series as the books were coming out sort of like I read one each year ishhh like pre quarantine, quarantine, post quarantine reads for me. I really liked it. Like 5/5 need the Tv show NOW… or 200 years ago lol. Like I was ADDICTED I took a FULL DAY TO JUST READ THIS BASICALLY and the stress and drama and tension omg checks kiss. The final standoff love wins against a collective plant enemy thing was like ermmm ok? The ending chapter I wish was longer ahhhh I LOVED seeing the interactions between the characters the most like def my FAV thing abt

Soooooo yeah. Names weren’t memorable. I felt more annoyed at Akos for betraying his friend than actually for his death Bc I didn’t remember most of the characters. Idek I couldn’t care so I guess times three speed is just not it

Five not perfect but unputdownable and entertaining (which is how I now judge what I consume mostly) stars

BUT. The one thing that I was kinda like bruh no was the romance between him and space dad. I mean first off, his wife died like a year ago.... so like not v realistic?

Anyway. Also, I am v confused abt Sond x Amara and I NEED A STARFIELD GUIDEBOOK like YESTERDAY. I feel like it’s kinda my fault for not reading the second one but I’m glad I didn’t but knowing what I know maybe I will now? Idk we’ll see

I loved how the romance was mostly just leading up to things (homecoming ) and then going forward to six months later when all is well. I like that abt Ashley’s writing.
Rosie felt like a v flushed our character, which was super nice.

Diversity felt a little forced... like all of a sudden Elias is Mr.Rodrigues and starts speaking Spanish in the second half? Ok fine I’ll let it pass bc he’s Hispanic.
