joyce asked me to read this and we are now bonding on hating the main character

i probably would have enjoyed this more if i read this at a younger age

idk why i’m surprised that this book sucks ass

I’ve seen people saying this is just like Lincoln at the Bardo which I have not read. So far this is good thi.

why is everyone in this book so annoying (except fanny)

Very kesian to Fanny and I hate all the Bertram kids.

is this book about mindy kaling and bj novak??

I really do not like Irene she annoying as fuck

ok this book quite refreshing sebab finally ada scene pandemic and for once MC admits her attraction to love interest early on. the only annoying thing is that every couple of pages there’s gonna be an “apology” and hyper awareness about the characters punya privilege.

This book is about overthinking.

wow ok we are going somewhere

It’s only been four chapters but whew what a confusing ride.

This book reminds me of The Talented Mr Ridley

MC seems like a weirdo

just a note that I’m reading this because the writer is my sun moon twin and also bc me and Ali want to watch the film adaptations. Him team Tarkovsky and me team Soderbergh (well okay, team Clooney).

wei buku ni skema nak mampos

I understand it was a different time and we had a different struggle and the enemy was penjajah. But reading all the parts about the Malay struggle is giving me election war flashbacks 😔
