As of the first part, I find myself disappointed in the heroine. For all that she is supposed to be a graduate student, she is most sincerely lacking the ability to think critically and put what are relatively simple pieces together. This section of the book, therefore, dragged on. It would have been better had fifty or so pages been cut, getting to the point instead of spending so much time on Connie’s research.

It’s a little too sappy and sweet for me so far, and the characters act a little young (which makes since considering they are in college.) Probably going on the DNF shelf.

I’m having trouble convincing myself to finish this book. I love the main character, but the side characters are iffy to me... it just feels as if the inhumanity (I mean that in a literal “the main character is something other than human and therefore thinks completely different from a human” way) of the main character makes it difficult to feel anything for her or the characters she sort of maybe cares for

The author’s imagery is intense and, at times, hauntingly beautiful from page one.

Wow. I LOVE this book, PLEASE read it before reading Gray’s series, because as awesome as this book is, my heart BROKE seeing what Gray was like before he was kidnapped to become a sex slave (not a spoiler, just the description of Gray’s first book in this universe) and knowing what horrible things were to come!

Wow! Five pages in and I am seriously turned on by the story and by the author’s beautifully seductive use of words to create a deep connection to the characters and their emotions. I am crossing my fingers that I have stumbled onto a Golden Reread, as I call books that I can’t help but read over and over again...
