Finished the chapter of the amazing person who stayed true to her choices when the world derided her for it. The amazing Hester Lynch Piozzi.

Wow. What a life.

Entering the second 40 page chapter of the book (also the second last chapter of the book) into the story of Mrs Thrale (forgot her full name).

Considering the actual contents end at 330, I'm awed at being in final 100 pages after all this time. Stories of Charlotte Smith, and Mrs. Inchbald were so appealing that I couldn't pause.

Completed the chapter of Hannah More. My perception that it will only cover dislike is proven false partly. Last 5% of the chapter is actually looking at the complex person she was - her controversial opinions are merely a part of her. Gemini, translating author sentiments for me, helped me understand how Ms More serves as a reference beyond her beliefs to understand the impact she brought on the world of the time.

Started the chapter about Mrs Hannah More. I feel influenced by author's dislike of her. Maybe it's valid, maybe it's not. I just know I feel influenced.

Somehow, I've picked up another apocalyptic book. I forgot the blurb by the time I started and am now blindsided by it.

Didn't even realize as the pages flew by. The POV + tense combo is easy to push through once I'm in the flow.

Having some comparisons with my own experience of that age. Not sure if they're flattering, neutral or something else.

I forgot the third person present tense writing style. The book is light and fun, right up my alley after V for Vendetta.

Just finished Ann Radcliffe's chapter. I'm not exposed to Gothic (even Dracula) yet I'm curious about The Mysteries of Udolpho.

Knowing that tragedy is trigger to all the upcoming events doesn't make the tragedy easy to swallow. I anticipate and every gulp is a scarring scratch on the walls of my throat. Deliver me.

I'm in the portion where author tells what happened next after completing the story of author in focus (Ann Radcliffe, presently). I find this section more likely to lose its focus. However, I shall trudge on.

Finished the chapter of Frances Burney. Feels the chapter was slightly extended unnecessarily to talk about a different topic involved in being a rare book collector. An interesting person though, Burney is.
