Surprisingly slow start.

Picked it back up after switching to other books. Being early in the story means not much to forget & recall.

Kinda struggling now.

I don't know if I want to finish the book.

I don't know how I feel about it. Things are happening, but I don't know if it is the storm forming or the idyllic healing days. Or both. I'm happy to keep reading but with the DICOMY investigation being an established truth, it's all calm. Yes, the place could be shut down but the way Linus thinks, I don't expect it. That has kinda killed the tension of the story

Genuinely, I feel May - the FMC - is trash for her actions. And I don't mean the bet.
- You blackmail a guy who's clearly giving signals that he wants to be left alone. Even if she justifies it as a joke, he doesn't know that and thus it is blackmail
- You stay quiet about suicidal behaviors than bringing to attention.
- You push your company on him and then get angry over why he's not opening up to you.

I laughed. A short but appropriate response.

Started last night and dozed off while reading it (due to fatigue, not because of the book). It's very good.

I forgot my main character's name. Doesn't bode well.

I do admire how she has reacted to the unsettling news. The response is best possible in the circumstances.

Wow. So that happened. The guy has a fake wife, a real fiancée and 0 reasons for not having this declared to the fake wife (our main character, in case you missed it).

4 chapters down. 15 + epilogue to go.

Interesting start. I'm most worried about the increasing chapter length as the book goes on. Will be tricky to find spots to pause.

I looked it up. I had to. I had to search "how long before pride and prejudice picks up the pace". It says chapter 11 at least. I just finished chapter 6. I don't know if AI lied to me. I hope it didn't.

Daisy sniffed and blew, then started in on her vows. “I, Daisy Devreaux Markov, take thee . . .” She paused.
Alex looked down at her and lifted his eyebrow. “Don’t tell me. You forgot my name again.” He looked exasperated, but Heather could tell that he wanted to laugh.

I laughed too. Sharing this update at the end simply to say that I laughed too

“I don’t love you anymore,” she whispered. “I don’t love you at all.”
His throat closed. “It’s all right, sweetheart. I love you enough for both of us.”

I need more grovel. But yeah, it's still a tough ride. So many things, so many reactions don't make sense but I still love the fairytale. I just forgot this one was also filled with smut

I don't care how much evidence the state presented. I've never for one moment believed he murdered that waitress.

Daisy is a hoot. Which makes the entire story a journey through hell. Why did I pick it up?

The best piece of positive dialogue I've read. And this is still chapter 1.

There's a lot of overt fanboy-ing. I don't like it, even if the stories are inspiring and deserve it. Let me do it to myself rather than hyping it up for me.

Super grateful that the every chapter is merely 3-4 pages in length.

Read the Oleander House scene (chapter 3) in the middle of the crowd. 😅
A little heads up would have been better, author
