The most cliche start of all! He's such a guy. She's such a girl. Still fun though.

I like how they skipped an ex. I wished they skipped the douche ex same way too. I know it's for buildup but the story isn't engaging right now. Or maybe I've lost my romantic spirit amidst the Christmas song references.

Almost DNF'ed at how crazy the main character is about finding true love (and in general). But I'm just pushing through because I read the blurb and want the guy friend (potentially the one) to make her suffer. Definitely not a 5 star.

First break. The opening chapter looks intriguing. Might binge this too.

Just started and so glad the series is a collection of standalone. I'll go back to book 1 later but based on the blurb, I knew I wanted to start with this.

Just finished chapter 38. I stand with the sister about the father.

It's Jan 2nd... In the book, I mean. I feel impacted by these recent 21 percent. More due to what I'm associating with them than due to the writing/characters. At this point, the book is good, but nothing stands out. Which is sad, because the premise and events are well detailed. The two want to be together, when splitting would be less strenuous. They are trying, life is happening and I don't know how things end.

On visit 3. Snuck in a little more before I *have* to take a break.

The second visit is over and now we come face to face with the story that will not end well. This is a disease that won't get better.

Having the visit described from both perspectives was great. It made me want someone who'd do that for me - or someone I'd want to do that for... Of course, I'm older than both of them. But here's to hoping!

He's a vet, saved a healthy dog from euthanasia and described as sculpted.
She's a woman with strong personality - both as in standing for her beliefs and as firm against personal ongoing tragedy. What's not to like?
