It feels like I have an open wound. Still hurting. It's amazing that the author is able to make it relatable.

The reviews of the book criticized the author for irrelevant troubles, like the situation with club membership. I didn't see that so. I saw it as a social rejection. By people you wanted to be accepted by.

Not saying life cannot be hard for less affluent. Not saying it couldn't be worse.

I'll fix the edition later. The page count here is wrong. I probably picked the wrong ISBN

I felt angry at end of Part 1.
I felt despair at end of Part 2.

There are three more parts. I wonder how I'll feel.
The author's background (and how it contrasts with most of the population) and the purpose of the book don't mesh well together. I attribute it to insufficient editing which couldn't find the optimal flow here. The author may be casually elite, but it can deter readers living a less abundant life.

Half way through. I lost my pace due to recent illness. Now I find I care about the story even less. Not a fault of the book. Not this time.

I feel neutral or actually positive regarding current Ella. However, I will say this (now and in my final review), early story Ella is a nightmare and can drive readers away from the book.

She's bearable now. But no apologies = No acceptance.

Fire the entire staff and start afresh. That'd be healthier for the shop

I'd have fired the female MC Ella on Day 2. 1 day of shock and anger resulting in hostile behavior? I can try to understand. Persistent behavior over mail and subsequently? I don't care. Our male MC Henry is a saint compared to me. Aka stupidly written for being a successful business consultant.

Physical book is surprisingly easier to enjoy. Hopeful!

I've been struggling to get lost in a story. Here's another go at it.

Also, her initial reactions? Completely valid. I peeked at some other ratings and first few lines of a couple reviews. I'm concerned, but not much. My last read also didn't have good reviews but I found the book good. Hope this one stands out too.

Well, something is happening. Something triggered the tarot cards and it seems the main characters are whisked away. Where though? I don't know what to expect yet.

Well, apparently the male MC shared my thoughts.

She did end the relationship with the ex but yeah, that wasn't a good thing.

And the failed celebration attempt? That sucks. I'm sad for the siblings.

Technically, that kiss is a gray zone on cheating. I never get the "break" concept. Yet, once again, the lack of communication strikes again. Who could have guessed? 😂

This book would become a short story if only they communicated in the present. If they had (more like he had) in the past, it wouldn't even exist.

Not a complaint, just an observation.

The first paragraph of chapter 13 feels very much like justifying the female MC decision to move back, like everything else was because of the boyfriend. That's annoying because it implies nothing is her fault.

I relate to her.
Unfortunately I'm also feeling I didn't sleep enough. So I stop here

I like someone told the guy how stupid he's being. And yet, I can also think of Andrew Garfield and that song Therapy in that musical Tick, Tick... Boom!

I needed a fiction read I'm not intimidated by (sorry, Clockwork Angel but I don't have you around me right now). The title, the description, the dedication - I'm sure of what's going to happen. And I say bring it on.

Bring on the tears!
