The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself
In the tradition of Ramana Maharshi, Krishnamurti, Spira, Packer, Wilber, and others, Singer is clear and uses some vivid metaphors here that have the potential to open eyes and souls.

Bob Dylan (Pop Culture Legends)
A short, cursory run through Bob's life. Meh.

Positively 4th Street: The Lives and Times of Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Mimi Baez Farina and Richard Farina
Interesting, especially about Richard and Mimi. And even a cameo or two from Pynchon! A true Bob enthusiast won't learn much new here though.

Who Is That Man?: In Search of the Real Bob Dylan
One of the more astute Bob books, aided and abetted by Dalton's gonzo rock n roll writing style (something like if Lester Bangs had written a sustained boo k on Dylan). Does at good a job as any book at getting at the enigma. And Bob remains as enigmatic at the end as he does in the Chapter 1.

The Way of Life According to Lao Tzu
I wanted to give this version another try, and find myself liking the it's playfully American use of rhyme/meter more this time around. Maybe I'm going soft with age. Then again, I've never really met a version of Lao Tzu that I didn't like at least some aspects of.

Tao Te Ching: A Book about the Way and the Power of the Way
Decided to give this one another chance/read, and enjoyed her "versions" much more this time around. Still lean Jane English/Stephen Mitchell/Red Pine, but I've never really met a translation of the Tao that didn't offer something....

Vedanta: A Simple Introduction
Little more than a pamphlet, that devolves into proselytizing for the Ramakrishna order. This does contain some good basics of Vedanta, but starting with a good translation of the Gita would stand one in better stead.

James Joyce
As part of my personal JJ project, I'm rereading this greatest of literary biographies, taking breaks to read all of Joyce's writings as I get to the appropriate points in his life.
What larks!
