I loved this sweet, poignant novel. It portrayed the very real effects of emotional abuse balanced with humor, fun and romance. With wonderful characters and secondary plots that kept me fully engaged, wanting to know what would happen while not wanting the story to end.

This was a sweet story of first love and the meaning of family with a little mystery and a wonderful Italian setting thrown in. Lina, the protagonist, pieces together secrets from her deceased mother's past while exploring Florence and falling in love. It is a teen novel but I found it both engaging and enjoyable.
