Really fun and interesting cast of characters. We have just enough info to keep track of each one, but aren't drowned in irrelevant detail. I love the writing style

This book drags on forever and I don't see much movement in plot. It's a lot of proses and moral dilemma that's hard to slog through. I think I'm unlikely to finish it

This is a really fun book to read! The history facts are written in a way that they are engaging. So far, I have a little trouble with layout where large photos cut sentences in half

A dude wrote this and it is so obvious in his writing. I'm almost expecting the horrible description paragraphs about a woman whose "small breasts are .........(this continues for half a page)...and then her waist....." that we get in male written romance books.

Not very far in the book at all, but this is already a fantastic resource for fashion. The introduction is going through the history of the 40s and how that influenced fashions.

Love the little name reference to Boyne's other book, "The Absolutist".

" 'Plus she has that blasted film...' then it struck him. 'Good god. She's a victim, pure and simple.' "

After reading 3 books about men irrationally hating Salander and how that "whore" ruined their lives by existing, it was pure relief to read a character that didn't follow that same path. It was tiring and heartbreaking (not in the best of ways) to read the constant hate against Salander. What a moment to read

Danielle is on page 58 of 272 of You Are Not a Rock: A Step-by-Step Guide to Better Mental Health
So far this is a fun book aimed towards helping compulsions. It describes mental health in fun metaphors so that it is easy to understand/give it a tangible form rather than the open world of the brain. It pushes a very heavy "recovery means you won't be mentally ill anymore" ideology that is a bit hard to swallow, especially because mental health doesn't just go away through meditation. Overall, the book is iffy

At first, the naming process was a bit clunking and kinda made it hard to immerse into the story, but it got a lot better as it goes on. The small ways that the author brings in Russian fairytales is a joy to read and the book flows well. It's become a really hard book to put down

So far this book is really entertaining and informative. It's so easy to pick right back up and Collins' sprinkled in stories reek of driving experience, which makes for a pretty rad book

I got through the first part of the book that focuses on Sarah's experience at the school and it's amazing! She's an incredibly brave person and is such an interesting character to read
