Not sure why I keeping reading this book, since the protagonist is so unlikable. It helps that the other characters also dislike him

Not sure this book is really relevant to writing novels… it’s more about how to break them down into some abstract properties. Should be called A Theory of Novels or Letters to a Young Literary Critic. A young novelist would be better off reading Stephen King’s On Writing or John Gardner’s On Becoming a Novelist.

First 50 pages and I am shocked. Pairs well with first part of Sapiens.
