Rereading for work. Still impressively ahead of its time.

This book is taking me a long time because need to allow the really good and emotional chapters to “set in” and be fully experienced before moving on. This book has many such chapters that deserve space and room to breathe. I don’t come across many books this emotionally weighty in a good way and I plan to savor this story.

I’m so close! It’s a strange book and I’m not sure I’m understanding what the author intended.

I’ve cried multiple times so far. Very good.

😭😭😭 WHY do authors pick on their protagonist to such extent?

I’m listening to this on Spotify. It aged poorly but has an intriguing concept of quantum physics.

I appreciate the thought behind this book. I agree with maybe 65-70% of it.

That book was an experience. As an art form- really well done. I’d rate this highly for the craft. Definitely ahead of its time in 1968.
Weird book but it does give the feelings of how hubris leads to ruin and eventually the undoing of our own humanity.

I’ve been reading by day and listening by night so this book feels like a fever dream

A patient gave this to me back in my Florida days and I’ve been hauling it with me for every move. Time to read and donate to my local Little Free Library.
The last book I finished was SotF so I’m just coming out of book mourning. I’ll try not to be biased…

Yeah- idk where my copy is. Can’t find it so moving on to a sci-fi book I’ve been carrying with me for years. I want to read this next though…

I really like this book now. Something changed when he described his experiences with museums. I’ll give a full review when I’m done.

I don’t like the way I feel when reading this book.

The main character is becoming unlikable and clearly needs therapy. But it’s 1945 and society isn’t there yet. Poor and problematic Holden.

This author’s POV writing is easy to follow and picture. Holden is just meandering around campus before he leaves for flunking out. I’m interested in this story.

Kicking off my “summer semester” with this often required reading book. I was homeschooled and missed out on a lot of classic books so summer is when I schedule time to catch up. :)

Picked this book up at a thrift store. This is one of my favorite authors as she challenges my imagination and way I see the world. This book is set in the future as a collection of stories and tales from a future Northern California.

Tried to read this for a work book club. I hate it. 0/5 I didn't make it past the first chapter.
