Depressing story of conversion...I'm sure the end will be great, but wow, not pleasant.

Less impressed by her writing, so far, than I was in Bird By Bird.

Gets more brilliant by the minute. Inadvertently addressing the 'meaning of life' question in the process.

Books like this can defeat ignorant fundamentalist Christianity. A must read for all Christians (5 stars already!)

I like where this is going...It's so refreshing to hear someone take an intelligent approach to Genesis.

This sat on my shelf for 6 years before I picked it up. Really glad I did. Mcclaren always reminds whole heartedly follow Jesus and disregard "Christianity" as I know it.

After the intro I didn't think I'd like this. I've been totally sold on Lamott since. She's totally a female Donald Miller in narrative voice.

Currently in Bourdain overload, I think. Slowed down on this one...need to get the energy to finish (because it really is good!)

What can I say besides, even in his most minor food book, Bourdain proves to be an amazing crafter of words and story. As good as his others so far.

A great book. I was reassured early on when the writer declared himself a seafood lover that this wouldn't be a "don't eat seafood" book.

So far, my least favorite Pollan (& the last left for me to read). For a science book, it's lots of philosophy based on virtually no science

Darn. The printing of this book is screwed up. 2 chapters missing and 2 chapters repeated. Time to take it back to the bookstore.

As always Pollan doesn't disappoint. This year is our first with a garden and his beautiful prose is making the subject addictive...
