The author conducted in-depth research on Italian culture. I appreciate the contrast between the American and Italian mindsets, which is evident in the book.

I would have preferred a different setting. While I understand the author's familiarity with Sicily, I believe Sardinia would have been a better choice. It still holds strong religious influences.

The usual problem with King. He doesn't like to trimmer. And sometimes passages are extremely pleonastic. I remember dropping IT almost at the end due to the milking of the plot. Regarding this one I already detected at least two pointless chapters. Let's see. I prefer King in the short span.
