The author conducted in-depth research on Italian culture. I appreciate the contrast between the American and Italian mindsets, which is evident in the book.

I would have preferred a different setting. While I understand the author's familiarity with Sicily, I believe Sardinia would have been a better choice. It still holds strong religious influences.
