I enjoyed the first two books of this series. But in #3 the romance BS finally dominated the adventure aspect and I had to give it up. I realize that Breene had an audience of women in mind from the very start, but I was hoping that Jacinta's development as a magical warrior would stay front and center. I was hoping for too much.

This was my first try at the author's books. I was attracted to the storyline but Dempsey's plain writing style couldn't hold me. I'm done with him.

I got weary of talking rabbits.

I loved the start of this book, but by halfway through I had had enough and quit the book. Good character development but by the time HIV was introduced to the story I ran out of interest. Ahiga was finally too much to take. I liked the idea of magic phasing in and out of human reality on a celestial schedule, though. My one and only try at a werewolf story. Also, the cover really sucks, almost kept me from trying.

I scanned this book then quit it. It looks like a worthy how-to effort, but I have too many things going on to start making knives. I've read Tomihama's bow making books and enjoyed them and learned a bunch, and "Simple Knifemaking" looks just as useful.

No, I didn't read all of this book. I just want to get Good Reads off my case. This book is way too old school for my tastes. There must be newer, better how-to-taxidermy books than this one.
