Great expose by the Heritage Foundation. Written in the late 1980s this book details the history of the administrative state, the degradation of our separation of powers, and the creation of a political ruling class in Washington D.C.

Very good so far, but I liked Atlas Shrugged better. I guess it's because I'm not to familiar with architecture and am much more interested in Rand's political philosophy.

"What happens when our most talented poets find their highest calling in advertising? What happens when people stop saving and turn their "labors" to spending? Is it possible to be a nation that exists on installment plan?"

One of the best books I have ever read

The more I read this book the more I like Senator Ben Sasse. Although we disagree on some issues (namely Trump) his brand on conservatism is appealing.


He says, "I'm a market oriented localist because I believe in cultural pluralism and the first amendment, in voluntarism over compulsion whenever possible, and in as much decentralized decision making as conceivably feasible"

Very interesting read so far. A limited government Christian nation of refuge is certainly an interesting idea, but I am not ready to give up hope for the U.S. of A just yet.
