The notion of using the logic of the illusion to destroy the illusion is rather brilliant.

Okay, it appears it was Johnny Walker Red, 12-Year Ballantine, then some variation on single malt. Many thanks, Eco. ::tips hat::

I always feel left out when the characters are drinking whiskey and I am not. Problem solved! Makes me curious about what kind of whiskey they drink in Italy, though.

I'm surprised by so many of the negative reviews on here. For pulp fiction, it's incredibly well written.

I'm finally done with _The Mountains of Madness_ and I think I am pleased with it. The final moments remind me of some formless beast out of the voluminous Monster Manuals from AD&D. Good read.

Taking my time with this one, it seems. It's a good read, just a little dry. Right now, he is talking about the symbolic animals of the Church: eagle, ox, lion, and man.

Finishing up the Mountains of Madness. I must say, it's always fun looking up some of Lovecraft's references, such as Nicholas Roerich and depictions of the Plateau of Leng.

I have been looking for a good edition of Lovecraft for awhile now, and I believe I have found it. While reading _Dune_, _The Kybalion_, _Foucault's Pendulum_, and _The Gothic Image_, this makes for an interesting read.

Done! This was an interesting read. It shows what happens after riding into the sunset. I think Herbert made very creative use of his own inventions. His use of clear vision in exchange for physical vision and the effects of the divergent path. It was really special.

This seems rather pagan, doesn't it? Is there a dogmatic or theological argument for this?

I've come to this after reading _Foucault's Pendulum_ and it comes highly recommended. I like that it is not simply art history, but also a history of symbolism within the Church.

Clever twist, though i should have seen it coming. I have to admit though, while it was shitty, it was very effective. Im honestly more curious to see how he deals with Peter. We all knew Ender would defeat the buggers, but how will the geopolitics turn out?

I like how Card portrays child prodigies. They are not winsome geniuses with no flaws. Ender - always - wins, but not without cost to his humanity. He is troubled, and confused. It strangely makes him more human. And the bitterness and hatred because of his success helps to create a loving world. Even his friends are angry with him at times. While I enjoy Harry Potter and Kvothe, they have very little depth.

I think I agree with people who have suggested that you just keep reading. No, you aren't going to get everything, but if you try to over-analyze everything, you'll stop enjoying it very quickly.
