why am i doing this? sarah you know you find these kinds of thriller murder mystery type books boring, especially when it’s with a broody male lead without much of a personality apart from “mentally tortured”. man this better be good.

i tend not to be a fan of “strong female characters” always being written as headstrong and impulsive and aggressive… there are too many of those out there and they’re usually not so nuanced.

aelis needs some character development feels like

phew that took a really long time

there was a lot that i did like, imagery being top, genuinely frightening in ways even horror novels don’t do

but it’s a book where at a glance it seems great because there’s so much gojng but really it’s just, so plot. wow, so convoluted complex.

also all the characters have the exact same voice.

eesh. could’ve been great. ended up just being fine. and a lil boring.
