This is so delightfully contrived and I love it.

This is... way more of a memoir than I was expecting? And I'm not sure it's living up to the promises from the blurbs, or that it's anything I personally need to hear.

I'm definitely going to keep reading this with my kid but I was a little put off by the first story - a mom getting mad at her kid because he couldn't find his phone and so the kid starts getting really flustered. Maybe the mom needs some help calming down too instead of constantly yelling at her kid when he's already upset?

I can’t believe I actually bought this and am going to read it in hardcover? The pages are so thin though! But I’m sure I’ll stop caring when I start ignoring my family and stay up way too late reading this tonight.

The hot buttered toast chapter!! Easily my favorite part of the whole book. So warm fuzzy just thinking about it, and I teared up reading it to my kid.

Taking a big risk reading my absolute favorite book from my childhood (maybe ever?) to my kid. But I have such a nice warm familiar feeling even in the first two chapters.

Reading this to my kid and we’re both sucked in - but I promised him I wouldn’t read ahead and I WANT TO.

Omg this was published in 2017 - the prologue and the first chapter about needing a strong and competent leader to make it through a plague and that we’ll probably experience one in our time. Do I laugh or cry?!?!

Constant commentary from the child of "magic isn't real" and "that wasn't very nice" and "wizards don't exist, mama" etc. But then he'll teach "magic" to his stuffies so and say he's Harry Potter.

5.5 hours in on the audio! Only 37.5 to go! This is total comfort reading/listening - I love this world. Perfect for my nightly twilight escapism walk!

I don’t even know how many times I’ve read and listened to this, but it’s been a while and I’ve got the illustrated versions to read now! I can’t seem to focus on any other books and Harry always makes me feel better. Trying it out loud with the nearly-5 year old. We’ll see!

I really want to see where this goes, but I'm already disturbed by animal cruelty on the part of the prince, and also the phrase "his ivory tusk" 🤢 Among other things.

This is super interesting and enjoyable but argh! Not even halfway through the 22.5 hours - even listening on a faster speed. 😩
