Knowing how parts of a character form its meaning makes every character its own mnemonic device, much easier to remember, plus it gives contextual clues about the “feel” of the word, and thus also the cultural and spiritual history of China.

The overlap between ancient accounts of OBEs is much more than I expected.

So far, it has a nice summary of historical Indo European mythology and their commonalities. Bonewits clearly has a lot of experience and knowledge about the subject and is up from about his bias.

The updated edition is so rich in detail... Pulls together a wide assortment of evidence to form a cohesive and convincing narrative.

Amazing insights into ancient symbolism

Marla and Lara Atwood’s sun path correlation theory is really compelling. So much research has been put into this with many elements from the worlds great religions pieced together to form a coherent picture of a spiritual path that was walked in antiquity, and symbolized by the solstices and equinoxes. Seeing the same symbols appear in the UK, the US, Egypt, Mexico, and Europe is eye opening.

For the most part, this is highly compelling. Gives little-known alignments and quality illustrations of the figurative representations made by mountains and terraces.
