For those curious, this novel was re-issued in 2025, originally published in 1961. It's the book that Sylvia Plath had in her possession right before she committed suicide. So far, it's good. (and I'm glad the ha-ha was explained! It's not what you think!)

It might be the audiobook narrator, but at this point, Ms. Sybil VanAntwerpsounds stuffy, very prudish and at times, fitting to her name. 🫤

There are parts that make me laugh, though.

What you might think of a the peak of the story isn't! Where do Becky, Cal, Felix and Margaret go from here . . . ?

I feel like a peeping Tom. It's such a close encounter with the characters - loving every single minute I get to spend with this book.

Rachel (Rocky) makes me laugh and is someone I can relate with! I'm in awe of how Newman intertwines the funny with the tragic. Some have said they don't get the writing style, but I love it, the exclamation points, Rocky's random thoughts sprinkled in here and there, etc. It's creative, different and honestly, a propulsive read.

So close to the end, but couldn't keep my eyes open last night! 😴

There's an affair going on and so this book is getting better. What does that say about me???😂
