Good - as I expect from Novik - but not great, as I know she often is. I think this would be better as a novel than a novella. I had questions & I wanted more about Celia & Roric in particular.

Reading under duress. Trying to read with an open mind and a curious stance. Wish me luck.

The kids couldn't wait & each one read it on his own. Now I'm left to finish up, then we're on to the next!

Everything is coming together - except, of course, for what isn't. And I can't decide which character I like best. Dorian? Eleanor? Mirabel hasn't been around for at least, you know, ten pages. And Zachary, sweet confused Zachary... Ah, he's on the next page. Back I go.

The first story in this collection may never leave me. Just wow.
