This is good.

All is forgiven. The MC is reading a Josephine Tey novel.

Nice description of how it feels to visit historic houses of excessively wealthy people: “it was like the house was trying to convince you of something… to understand the straightforward glory of wealth”

I am enjoying this, but factual errors drive me nuts. We are told the main character’s Smart car doesn’t go more than 21mph. Smart cars can hit 90. I get that it is supposed to be quirky or funny that she drives a ridiculous car, but maybe MJ has confused the Smart with a golf cart??

This was so dull! Maybe it was the delivery? (Audio book) The fun facts were not that fun. If it had been a series of student projects I would have thought it brilliant.

Wondering how an Inuit reader would feel about the depiction of their culture…

I’m finding these rom coms very soothing. I listened to the audiobook and drew/wrote letters at the same time.

I’m rereading this because my friend’s kid is reading it in his grade 9 English class. It seemed to me like a bit of a weird choice, so I thought I’d revisit it to see. Not sure all of it is grade nine appropriate? Also, so many references that surely must just fly by if you are not at least the age of the author!
