So delightful and witty so far! I've never giggled out loud at nearly every page of a book — looking forward to reading more xx

this was so endlessly inane that i wanted to gauge my eyes out (or more mildly, listen to the fitnessgram pacer test on loop for three hours straight). i really wanted to get through this book. i think the parts w/ emma & harriet were the most promising and i perked up @ those parts - only for it to resume to a totally meaningless gabfest that builds up to... absolutely nothing 🚫

do you guys use the goodreads choice awards for book recs? 👀 i've heard mixed comments abt. how readers aren't in agreement with the top choices & the most popular books just end up winning. is there merit to this?

so rich & imbued with history... the author put everything he had into this book & you can definitely see the care he took in gathering his families' stories. the writing is so personal and touching with an attention to detail that surprises me for someone who isn't a professional writer - just someone who felt a need to share their story. it's endlessly complex & the characters feel real enough to touch~

i can tell in my heart of hearts this is going to be my favorite read of this year 🏹🕯️🌿

LOVING THIS SO FAR. reading this after already having read "the dark descent of elizabeth frankenstein" ( a retelling ) is wild, i'm loving the media en res format & the whole nature vs. nurture discussion — curious to see how victor ( if he does ) restores his morality.

the art is SO gorgeous, it's all bold colors, glow, and precise line strokes ✨️ if i ever go into digital art, i might take inspiration from peglo's beautiful work.

aight sO. starting thoughts, i'm LOVING the writing style so far. charlotte perkins gilman wrote this beginning of the 20th century - it's got a classic air to it with words such as "nervous demeanor" and a austen-esque structure to the work. but it's incredibly (and surprisingly ?) easy to read and understand ! the MC is far from ostentatious, and such a feminist lmao, Girl Boss.

I WENT TO MY LOCAL LIBRARY AFTER A LONG TIME AND GOT HELLA BOOKS,, i may possibly shed a tear of joy ?? anyways, the premise of this story looked extremely interesting - i found a PDF & i'm really intrigued as to how charlie gordon (the MC) turns out at the end.
