aight sO. starting thoughts, i'm LOVING the writing style so far. charlotte perkins gilman wrote this beginning of the 20th century - it's got a classic air to it with words such as "nervous demeanor" and a austen-esque structure to the work. but it's incredibly (and surprisingly ?) easy to read and understand ! the MC is far from ostentatious, and such a feminist lmao, Girl Boss.

update 2 // the husband, john, is just.. so strange. he seems to infantilize the main character, treating her as if she were a daughter rather than a wife. i'm curious to see how this carries on ┐(´ー｀)┌
