I’m finding this book a bit frustrating so far but I think it might just be that I am not the target audience for the book. Like, and there’s no way to say this without sounding like an asshole, I think I’ve read too much about queer desire and lesbians in the archive. I think the average reader is probably not coming to this book with that much background knowledge.

I’m like having to stop after every chapter to look out the window and silently scream in despair / complicated recognition.
