Triggered - The title matches the entire vibe. I was fucking triggered. This follows the story of two "friends". This Tiff bitch is a hot mess and very toxic. She's a bit much and the ending was relatable. Oddly both friends were white but they were super liberal and identified as allies of the black/brown/queer communities. Tiff was the worst kind of "ally"

Owen - Another Black Mirror Episode this follows a man that is navigating parenthood. Reflecting on how far his family has come, trying to change generational trauma by being softer. Wrestling fans this one will be very nostalgic. I really liked it.

Reunion - This was an entire Black Mirror episode. Povs bounce between two friends a black man and a white woman. Their interactions bounce between unsaid feelings and tit for tat. But the surrounding world is weird af. Like what is going on around them?!? And they are unphased.

The Switching Tree - Very unique and powerful kick off to the book. A supernatural tree that somehow influences adults to beat their children. POV was a young girl, this is obviously pre civil rights era. I really liked this one

This is sooo messy. I either need a jump scare or for it to end.

Why do we need every single person's backstory? Why must we know the color and texture of everything? Why is this guy such a piece of shit? Can we start over from Katherine's POV?

The first 60% of this book was really chill. Maz was smoking weed, getting fucked, killing, napping, eating nachos and living her best life. It was enjoyable but I was like where is the storyline.....

Bitches all the drama and action has dropped and I'm here for it!!!

The Water Runner
Holy apocalyptic. This was super interesting. I would LOVE to see this adapted onto screen. It follows a water runner living in a desolate country. Without giving too much away it gave off solant green/ tender is the flesh vibes but with water....

Simbiyu and the Nameless- This was very dark and ominous. It's about a boy who is "cursed" with a dark entity that leaves a trail of death. Once he goes from fearing it to embracing it he gets everything he wants. I felt like this was a villain origin story. 3 Stars

So far this is creepy, mysterious, and has my attention. But I'm not a fan of the FMC. She is impulsive, spoiled, and nosey. Not in a cute way either. I think Angela Lansbury got me spoiled because she was able to notice things without being disrespectful. This child can't even wash her hands without snooping.
