The last chapter was okay and more like it belongs to the Arisen series as a whole. Probably going to move on to the 2nd part of Raiders now. Fool me once,,,and all that. We'll see.

Boring. What a gyp. This is just the regular type military stuff the guy writes but with a tiny bit of background noise from a zombie here and there to make it seem part of the Arisen series to lure me in. If I wasn't listening on audible and therefore no effort needed, this would be dnf'd already.

I have had such a horrible start to the book year, I just can't seem to get anything that I like. 'Setting aside' is a Mike Finn term I adopted last year instead of my usual DNF, mostly because the latter makes it sound like it's my fault and the former seems like it's the book's fault. This is another Set Aside. I just don't get it, at all. It's weird and it makes me feel stupid. NEXT!

I feel like I've been suckered into reading this by making me think it's actually part of the Arisen zombie series. Prove it and - Give. Me. The. Zombies. Then.

Okay, so the guy writes a good story. I'm 'reading' this on audible tho and the narrator R.C Bray moves this up from good to great. I've listened to the whole Arisen series so far and lapped them up, now I'm on to this spin off series. BUT, the guy also writes regular Military Gung Ho type stories and I'm not feeling those, I'm just here for the zombies. This one...this seems like regular military so far. Side eye.

So weird.

Loving it already. Funny in just the right measure and humour that could only come from a Northerner. Actually laughed out loud at the ear infection scene, LOL!

And, if you've ever watched Gogglebox UK then the narrator sounds like Pete of `Pete & Sophie'

Also, Father Donald's dry humour hits all the right spots.

Boring but incredibly engaging. Ben is a morbidly obese marvel in a strange UK zombie 'style' apocalypse. His skills as an online travel agent is genius and I'd throw money at him to take my holiday booking. Absolute legend!!
