some pretty wonderful and extremely specific similes - it makes up for the millions of names (though my guy Deiphobus made an appearance, friends call me Phobi - that's a vintage horrible histories reference for anyone who gets it)

so many names 🫠

i keep forgetting who's trojian and who's greek but other than that i'm having a whale of a time

next time i know someone who's having a baby i'll just recommend the end of book 2 - absolutely too many names in that i will not remember a single one

ok the sound of music essay made it worth the £15 i spent on this book (i didn't realise it was £15 until i took it to the till and then i was too late)

i think sometimes i need to remember that not every short story collection is going to be like A Glove Shop in Vienna - in fact none of them come close.... it's a lesson i'm learning

j'aime beaucoup un petit livre

just seen something that argued lizzy shows Pride and darcy shows Prejudice and i'm... can't believe i've never thought of it the other way round before

perhaps the longest its ever taken me to read p&p take me back to the times i could read anything i wanted in a day or two

i have no time at all to read (haven't read a book since the start of october) but i've been watching Anne With An E clips and i really just need some Anne time

This book is so old it smells really bad 😭 really not motivating me to read it

Reading this book at 20 past 11 and grinning to myself like some sort of dumb fool. Also I love this book so much I think if one wanted to understand me as a person one would have to read this book.

Reading a chapter of this one night and a chapter of my other Keller book on the next night! Gonna be full of Keller wisdom by the end.

She keeps referring back to things from the last book without background but I can't remember any of it help me 🫠🫠

i'm expecting this to take me a long time but that's ok because it's all stuff i need to hear!!

my fav analogy so far is that of Ortlund's 2 year old son hanging onto his hand until he can't anymore, and then Ortlund holding onto him and not letting him go - Christ holds onto us when we are too weak to hold onto him, and once he holds on he will not let go!

In my quest of having dreams about something other than my current situation, I'm experimenting with reading scary books just before I go to sleep... Will report back

Chapter 11 is basically Wilde showing off his cultural knowledge and I am utterly at a loss I understand 0% of it

Every chapter I read I go, 'How can I have forgotten that truth about God?' so you know, it's a great book

I'm 120 pages in and the action has only just kicked in... This may be a long one
