i do understand that my dissatisfaction with this book is that i had high expectations, but i just feel myself sighing whenever i feel like the author is choosing the more boring choice, either in prose or in plot. i don't think i would finish it if not for book club and i will be interested to see if other people felt the same or if it's just me

ok it's getting fun again

out of all the series i think the hea on this one will be the hardest to swallow -- like it's not great to try to ruin somebody just to get back at their brother, but it's worse to decide NOT to do it because you fall in love with her and then change your mind AFTER her other brother has been declared dead. like idk dude maybe hold off on your revenge until the woman you love is out of mourning. like idk????

Arris is foolish and silly in a charming way, which is why I’m not exasperated, but I will be annoyed if nobody points out to him that he is always talking about love yet is deeply shallow. Like I’ll let the boy have an arc, yanno.

V readable so far, except that sometimes the author jumps times unexpectedly and it doesn’t help that she sort of flips tenses?? Idk it’s bugging me a little so we’ll see if it’s enough to stop me
