This is getting complicated. Environmentalists. Billionaires with own agenda. Puffed up knighted land owner. National forest intrigue. Bunker and bomb shelter thinking? Vs. save the world green veg growing with a guerrilla gardening edge. How does this mesh? Not well I am guessing.

This has been and engrossing book full of so much stuff. Details like John McCrae was a doctor before being a soldier and writing his famous Flanders Fields poem. He was interested in typhoid prevention and wanted his life work to be inoculating every one possible after the war. He saw how successful that could be but he did not live to carry out that dream.

I now own this little gem of a book. A lovely gift in hard cover and awesome to handle with its heavy paper and delicate drawings.

This consistently gets good ratings. I will have to find a new copy so I can get into it properly.

Super Charming and softly humorous. Cat Sebastian is a master of the reluctant romance and appealing characters. The hard scrabble Billy and the injured poster boy Luke are infused with heart and grit and neighbourliness. As in -what a nice neighbourhood that would be if all families were as heartfelt and accepting as this one might be....

Tons of requests on this one. No surprise. Got a temporary 7 day loan so I will see how far I get with this e copy. Great of the library to offer this on high demand titles.
