DNF at 10% because I'm just not in the mood to righteously angry at the injustice of the world.

Listening to the audio book and I literally cannot listen to the best friend Ashley's voice. Shrill and awful. I'm returning this to the library. Maybe I'll try with the ebook, but I'm not that into celebrity comes to small town romances.

DNF at 14%. I really wanted to give this book longer, but Avery's relentless insecurity and negative self-talk was quite overwhelming. And I don't enjoy that in books. It is a strong preference that I've had since way before this book. I tried in the last 5% of the book to overcome that preference, but life's too short.

DNF at 20% All they are doing is talking. Is there a plot?

I'm DNFing this at 10%. I think I'm just completely over enemies to lovers. I can't stand the bickering. And in the plot department, this book started out so, so strong until we find out at 10% that Ben the work enemy is also great friends with the heroine's best friend, who doesn't work with them. Just a bridge too far. Like, the world is not that small.

DNF The writing style just isn't working for me, nor are either of the characters' personalities.

So stressful. Nonstop arguing, conflict, and reminders of so many systemic injustices in the world. Not the escapism I've been craving lately, so I don't think I'm going to finish.

Last week I read the first couple chapters and they did not hold my attention, so I think it's time to return this one to the library.

This just isn't working for me. I don't like a single character in this book and I don't care if they get what they want. I even find what they each want rather off-putting for different reasons. DNF

I am finding that I do not care for the way the duke punches down, humiliating the heroine at every opportunity. At least when she pokes at him it is punching up. And she didn't start punching until he had completed a scathing monologue takedown of her upon first introduction. Do I care to see this asshole redeemed? Not so sure.

I just can't with this book. DNF

I'm DNFing at 10% in because the writing, the actual prose and dialogue, are so sub-par. Just absolute amateur hour over here.

Ugh Every single person in this book is miserable and that is so not my jam.

Wow this is dense material.

I don't really understand what the conflict between these two is. Why is Liam so standoffish? Why does the heroine snap at him so much? It feels kind of contrived to me.
