This book puts me inside the head of a particular student of mine last year. A very impactful read this far.

A page turner! I am on a rollercoaster ride with the characters and plot. I hope this story doesn't take a dip from here because the middle was so deeply emotional and it's on an upswing right now. I am closing my eyes and holding on tight.

Wow! What a beginning! This story is holding my face in both hands and peering into my soul. I think this might be love at first sight!

This book is getting good already!

A student recommended this book and let me borrow his copy. He's been asking me all week, "Did you finish RUSH FOR THE GOLD yet?" I excited to tell him tomorrow how much I liked his book!

UGH! This book is hurting my feelings! I've made it to the end of Part One. What in the world is going to happen to this precious girl, May? I won't be able to sleep tonight until I finish this book.

A little tricky to read because this is book two in a series, but I'm catching up quickly.

I am riveted. So far this book hurts...hopefully the ending will heal. Fingers crossed.

Way more entertaining than expected!

I promised my class that I'd read this book. They "discovered" on their own that the author is the same author that wrote Hunger Games. :). They devoured the Overlander series after that. Gotta jump on the bandwagon or my Ss will track me down next yr.

Read a great essay this morning by Leslie Blauman titled "Building a Better Book Club". Blauman suggests a class read aloud of a chapter book and facilitate a whole class Book Club before establishing small group book clubs. Scaffolds, and models proper Book Club dialogue. And establishes routines.

This is one of those books that I want to avoid the ending for 2 reasons: 1) ending could be sad 2) the end means the book is over.

Hmmm. I feel this book making me a better reading coach. :)

Reading through this book a bit at a time. It's a compilation of essays by leaders in comprehension strategies. Heady but enjoyable.

Last 100 or so pages have been good reading. Action and suspense. Enjoying the character S.Q. Pedalian.

How do kids finish this book?! The story is NOT moving fast enough for me. As God is my witness, I will finish this book! *shakes fist at the sky

Still enjoying the book, but finding myself putting it down frequently. Not a frantic-page-turner for me...but enjoyable tale.

Enjoying the book! Had to fight my way through the writing style of the first pages. Kinda like reading Steinbeck....just make it through the lengthy description of the setting. :)
