Whenever I was asked or wondered if something was safe, I would reply with a “safe as life” followed by a chuckle every single time. I couldn’t remember where I stole it from but it always stuck with me. I’m now realizing it’s from these books and these books only, apparently not an actual saying

Listening to this as an audiobook cause I needed something familiar that wasn’t music while working on my art project. Didn’t think I’d get hit with a truck of emotions. This is middle grade??? How??? Howwww

Couldn’t say goodbye to autumn without reading miller

Reading the last few chapters of the second part on my commute was an experience-

Hmmm a weeping figure statue that is stationary when perceived and a monstrous thing when you blink…. Sounds oddly familiar

The beginning of this book is oddly similar to a thousand splendid suns and its throwing me off

Kdrama left me so empty I turned to poetry-

Dare I say this might be one of my favs. Not even for the romance, I might enjoy that in the other ones more but just the way she’s finding herself and seeing the world differently through learning Chinese, word by word. Why am I tearing up so goddamn much

There’s a lot of feeling put into this book and a lot I relate to yet something about the writing is so deprived of emotion. It’s matter of fact rather than lyrical and it throws me off balance bc I feel like my heart should be twisting for these girls but instead it’s just passing through me with little effect. Somehow East of Eden could be written very matter of fact but it’s done so endearingly, idk idk

The amount of times this book has pushed me to near tears on the subway in just the last few chapters is crazy. Lee you will always be loved

I’m offended by how much I resonate with the main character-

Might possibly reread because I spent most of my listening time stressing about a painting rather than listening + painting

It’s a lot more enjoyable when I pretend it’s Naruto x Sasuke fanfiction
