I met Daljit at a literature event last night. Great chap. I now intend to read this collection cover to cover instead of dipping in and out like I usually do with poetry collections.

I'm taking a break - I'm on chapter 8, it's a great book, but I'm starting to miss fiction.

Gah! Parts of this ring very true and are insightful - other aspects are so cloth-eared as to be irritating. Faulks seems a bit complacent in some of the satirical points he appears to be making. All in all, I'm making myself read this for the Cityread/reading group; if I had the choice, I'd give up and start Skagboys by Irvine Welsh, which I'm looking forward to much more.

Man, I hate having more than 1 book on the go but out of the 4 I currently have, there isn't one I want to put aside.
