I started off really loving this book, but I’m at the point where it’s taking me so much effort to not DNF. The FMC has become honestly insufferable.

Her lack of ability to communicate, plus her constant jumping to conclusions makes me want to punch her almost as often as she decides that she wants to slap someone for doing something absolutely human, that seems to annoy her and her immaturely developed brain.

I mean why not add a 970 page historical fiction samurai epic to my growing pile of books I’m bouncing between?

“You’re goofier than I thought you’d be when we first met,” I called to him. “Sorry I wasn’t very carefree when you maced me,” he said back.

My fave of all the Lyla Sage books so far. The sass, the banter, the slower(ish) burn. Also the FMC being a photographer going through a creative rut + feeling a bit lost is def something I feel.

I was a bit iffy on this one at the start, but now i'm so sad its almost over.

Maybe I’m so salty about more contemporary books rn bc rereading anything Vonnegut just does something to my brain. The way this man writes and uses words.

I am a sucker for dark humor and beautifully simple prose. 10/10 always. So it goes.

DNF for now but may revisit if I find myself in the mood. Was gonna try to slog through but life is too short to force yourself to read books that you’re just not vibin at the moment.

I can def see how this would make a fun movie though.

Right now 1/3 of the way, and I can’t be bothered to care about any of the characters at all, and in fact rather dislike them. Hopefully if I return I’ll be less judgy lol

I love this wonderfully weird man so much.
Listening to this as an audiobook with David Lynch narrating is like him guiding you along the strangest yet coziest acid trip.
I forever will aspire to be as freely myself as this man was himself, and to create with as much joy and intention.

Well fuck me, I guess I am a cowboy romance girly. I adore this whole series and these characters. This one got me in the feels much more than expected for sure.

My brain can't seem to cooperate and focus on any of the other 5 books I'm reading (and even though enjoying truly) at the time, and I saw this in a store today, so here we go.
