Ever read something where you think the author might have had enough ideas to make a novella but then they just kept going and padded it out with a whole lot of extra words?

I need to stop reading books set in Chicago written by people who don't live here...

I already know I'm going to be annoyed by this, no one has to say "I told you so" when that happens, don't worry.

I am in fact crying through this whole book.

i'm really enjoying this so far but I'm also pre-emptively deducting at least half a star for the entire premise of Daphne lying by omission.

Everyone in this book sucks except for the dragons.

I readily admit that I am not expecting to like this book but I'm on vacation and don't want to read something I'm going to care about or want to think about.

Lauren, who I share many traits in common with, is absolutely the most annoying main character, which is a fact I should probably unpack someday.

These two are disaster gremlins and I love them, some real Idiot 4 Idiot stuff happening here.

This book owes me a dollar for every time it info dumps some backstory on me. Does the author want to be writing the present day story or does he want to be writing about the past because honestly I can't tell.

Maggie keeps talking about how she's terrible with people and I don't want to minimize anyone's feelings of anxiety or anything but has it occurred to her that everyone she spends any time around in real life just absolutely fucking sucks? It's not you, girl!!

I am hanging in here to get to when the cute romance starts but holy heck every supporting character in here is the absolute worst

why is the font in the physical copy of this book so small, please, it is a romance about Gen Xers, its target audience is people with old, tired eyes, please help my vision is so angry right now

"I didn't think...well, I didn't think at all." the fact that this comes up now in both books of the series as a plot point is [facepalm]

I will never be over the fact that the only brand name from the real world that's used in this series is LEXUS. like. seriously?

I just dnf'ed two consecutive books and was wary of starting anything else if I was in a Book Mood, but just a few chapters into this so far and it's already more compelling than any of the stuff I gave up on recently.

tbh everyone in this book is very obnoxious. not enough chernobyl, too much soap opera.

look did I decide to just re-read the whole series now that I can properly place all the characters/relationships? only god can judge me
