I haven't picked this up in a while because I've been juggling so many books recently, but even just reading 30 pages to refresh myself, I'm so drawn in. I really need a week off to really just catch up on everything I'm reading and get a good chunk done.

The question of morality surrounding a lovers bond, particularly when the power dynamic between the two is disparate or unbalanced - really well handled. Plus loss and heartache being explored in a variety of parallel ways at the same time... beautiful stuff.

It's pretty wild that's what this book is about really, because on the page it's all demons and necromancy and a whore house on the back of a dead crab.

I would absolutely love a 1-1 chat with this man about his inspirations and research methods. These books really do tick all of my boxes.

A satirical SF graphic novel with an animal rights message straight out of the gate? And the beautiful cover too?! Tick tick tick, let's go.

It's wild to me that this book is considered the weakest of the series (so far).

Time to jump back into this proper. I really need to stop starting more books but it's hard because I want to read everything. This is so so good though.

I swear China goes out of his way to write books as unadaptable as possible. They are so so good, and I'm seeing the scenes in my head perfectly, but imagining them on a screen would be the most ridiculous and unserious shit ever.

Garro might not be on Loken's level characater-wise, but I like him. The Death Guard are great.

This cat and mouse style narrative is so well paced. So so good.

The idea of Mage's familiars going on strike, and protesting outside of the British Library, while the criminal underworld of London is tearing itself to pieces over the missing corpse of a Kraken god... Top notch. This book is brilliant.

This is really good. It feels maybe a little too fast paced, but that happens when jumping hack and forth in time, but otherwise this is very enjoyable. I do adore the Cosmere.

Finally time to catch up! Jess and I adore reading these chapter by chapter together.

I mentioned in a forum that I really enjoyed To Build A Fire by Jack London and that's it's really stick with me but very the years since I read it, and some internet stranger suggested I try this short story as well. We'll see. London is perfect reading for cold but cozy evenings.
