I was so sure the audiobook was almost done 😵‍💫

I’m having a hard time with Jane’s stream of teenaged thoughts, but I do like how characters are actually building friendships and I looooove the narrator.

Oh Jane, Conrad is such a piece of garbaaaaaage! Stop stop stop

Another potential love interest?! Oh no! Although this one is much more palatable and seems like a decent human?

And Jane is paranoid about anyone and everything to the Nth degree. Come on, lady.

Okay so far, but the extremely detailed description of the potential romantic hero’s features and expressions is uncomfortably over the top. I feel like I need to scrub the ick off.

Not bad! A very 2010’s sort of read, if that makes sense - obligatory gay friend and political correctness that’s already out of date, but generally a fun read.

It feels a little bit like reading a murder mystery in the style of the early seasons of Modern Family.

It’s funny seeing so many negative moments about it the diet-culture/thinness obsession Hannah has in this one when we’re right back to it again – this came out in the early 2000’s, and the tail end of body-positivity and fat friendliness died with the rise of GLP-1 scripts and social media “health and nutrition” influencers.

I’m just here for the body count and recipes!

I’d forgotten how much I enjoy this series! Except for Mike 🤢 The 90’s produced some weird male romantic leads.

I’ve already listed to about 35 hours of various narrators for this public domain recording. The last half of the book has been the same narrator, and, although I appreciate and admire his persistence, his accent is difficult to understand when combined with the classical 18th-19th century English writing style. Lots of audio skimming to finally finish the story.

Perplex is ALREADY a verb, you fictional goons. It’s most definitely not like converting Google to a verb.
