The Letter to Matilda wrecked me in all the right ways, but a few pages later there's an unchallenged cissexist comment--really?

Hey look, another dude raping his wife. And fantasizing about raping another woman. So disappointing.

Didn't like the husband at the beginning and now that he's repeatedly raping his clearly mentally unstable wife? I so hope he dies.

This is one of the most important books I've ever read. I keep having to take breaks because it's hitting so hard! I love this little girl!

OMG QUEER. I had no idea there would be a lgbq lady in this book! Now I can't wait! (Representation is important, folks.)

Picked this up at the airport because everything else on the shelves looked awful. Should get me through my vacation.

(Guessing on pages because I'm using the kobo app and it doesn't do pages or percentages, as far as I can tell.) And, spoiler alert, the queer character just died. What a horrible trope.

Loving the book but it's feeling so Trans 101--I'm skimming bits because they're entirely unoriginal trans- and biphobic BS. Which I understand. Those parts are important for people who may not be familiar with the queer community. And the fact that Tucker hadn't even considered that Ella could be the trans woman feels stretched for plot, but, again, I understand that it's important.

I never should have doubted Author Marissa. I should know better by now!

Every woman so far that we've met, Levana has hated and it feels very girl-hate. I'm seriously hoping this isn't going to turn into Levana being evil because she missed out on getting the boy. We'll see.

So far, I've only liked one of the characters, and that character is dead now. I'm neutral on most of the other characters, except for the pedo-ish guy I mentioned before--still hate him. Luckily the plot is interesting, because the characters are surely not getting me through this.

So far, an adult man has had sex with a girl he thinks is ten-years-old. I don't really care that she's also an adult--he doesn't know that. I've enjoyed Author Butler before so I'm going to keep reading, but I'm worried he might not be punished appropriately. We'll see.

I adore this book so far. I've told everyone about it!

Either it's getting better or I'm becoming immune. Too early to say.

I was only still reading to learn if one character is a trans girl, as it's been hinted, but the curiosity wasn't enough anymore (really not enjoying the book) and I was just about to give up when, who woudda guessed it?, another character comes out as a lesbian. Big sigh. Guess I'll keep reading for now.

Valentine's present from the boyfriend? Knocked it out of the park.
