Genderfluid anti-capitalist dragons!!!!

Okay this is incredible so far and I’m so glad I chose to give it a try after literally EIGHT years of side eyeing it and wondering if it was worth the hype. That said, it’s billed as the first in a series however there are kind of a lot of words for dragons I don’t understand that I think I would get if I had read the author’s Seraphina series first.. Not too confusing but just ruins the immersion a bit.

So far there are a lot of trite sounding lines such as “I once read somewhere that no man is an island. … But maybe girls are.” But it kind of works?? Somehow??

Beginning to fall asleep reading this when suddenly the mc decides the house is personified?? make it make sense

having so much trouble sticking with this after the plot twist reveal :/

Already fascinated by this mystery - the main characters have received a letter from beyond the grave from their dead mother ????????? telling them to investigate her favourite creepy small town deep in the desert????? makes me want to be in arizona myself

I’ve only just begun this but as Ward is one of my favorite authors, I have no doubts it will be an amazing rollercoaster of a mystery!!
