Oh I love when we meet the Evil Thing in the first few chapters & then things only get scarier as the protagonist battles with the feeling of being alone with the Evil Thing.
I didn’t love ‘Diavola’ because I found the main character to be slightly annoying, but I’m getting similar vibes from the narrator here and I’m weirdly actually enjoying it?
