I wish she cut the Sabera chapters entirely. It’s stronger with Frankie uncover everything in ‘real time’. Also for an audiobook Hilary Hunter’s middle Afghani accent is atrocious. I get it adds to the budget but it’s seriously offensive. Hire an actor who has an Afghani background.

I get that Frankie is a loner who moves around, but I think this book is so much stronger as an ensemble with Jenny, Daryl & Bart

A bit slow going

A bit slow in pace. Their risky behaviour does stress me out,

Loving the banter and flirty chemistry. Ben, Martin and John are divine.

Unsure if I like MFC since she’s very individualistic. I’m also disappointed to learn Mary Anning was a real person. Why involve a RL person in a fictional book that’s fantasy in it?

Loving it. But geez Liam stand up to Granny and Gramps for Roslyn FFS. And Roslyn you can tell your grandparents off too.

Oh boy Milly is frustrating with her fixatedness on being this corporate big shot and I love Danny and relate to him so much better. But the writing is good bc as I read on I understand where she’s coming from and why she can’t let go of her fixated view of success, even if I disagree with her,

Great narrators.

The pranks are immature and I am glad Max stood up for himself to tell Keely that she started it. But why is she continuing it? Also the pranks she did for Max threatened his studies. Not a fan of her for this. She's also not apologised.

The twist was pretty predictable and so now its kinda slow waiting for that final showdown, especially with the flashbacks which basically confirm it. Its going to end two ways.

The narrator is great. I am, however, skipping the flashback scenes as its pretty clear that the author is showing the slow descent into domestic violence - from the knight in shining armour rich guy who slowly isolates and controls the victim. I really don't like constant flashbacks and I don't understand why we need these chapters since its obvious from the first flashback that Sam is no good.

Really liking hearing more about Ryan. Not as annoyed with Ana but 8 find her too pushy. I dunno I’m not getting the chemistry.

Love the snappy banter with Felix.

She’s kinda awful to him misrepresenting what he said at the start. I also think it’s valid to wonder why she dropped out during residency to be a podcast host giving life advice she’s not qualified for even if it’s positive and life affirming.

This book has so much heart. It’s heartfelt, heartbreaking and makes you heart sore. I had to pause a bit at times because I felt Grace and Henry’s grief and how it panged at the little signs of life moving on while still be very much attached to their spouses they lost.
