An easier read than Cloud Atlas. Engrossing.

I’m not sure about this one. Some of the characters are intriguing but I find myself not caring about the main character, the teenaged boy named Kafka.

I arrived at my friend‘s place for a long weekend without a book to read, and she happily gave me this thin volume when I asked for short stories. The author has a unique voice and she transports the reader to a distinct time and place.
