“If only dresses had pockets!”

IF ONLY? GIRL DRESSES HAD POCKETS IN VICTORIAN TIMES DID YOU DO *ANY* RESEARCH AT ALL????

Yet another book where there’s a diary probably containing all the clues needed to solve the murder and the protagonist just… reads it chapter by chapter at a slow pace instead of IMMEDIATELY FINDING ALL THE ANSWERS LIEK A NORMAL PERSON WOULD

She doesn’t carry a purse or care about her makeup or perfume but she always looks perfect she’s🚨NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS🚨

This book is stressing my the f out

"As a child the misery [in marriage] made sense, after all, I'd never seen a happy adult. I wasn't raised to be happy, I was being raised to be good."

OOF

At page 20 I was already like "girl, run" but now they're on a boat heading to a remote island so I think running is probably out of the equation

So I'm sure her husband is great and all, but using strange man to help him propose knowing about his wife's history is.... weird

This book is stressing me out 😍

It should not take OVER HALF THE BOOK to get to the gd murder!

looooooving it

Usually I love Jason Reynolds but I was almost halfway through the book before the world ending started and that’s too long

I would like to read an actual Outlander book, but aint nobody got time for that, so I’m settling for a novella.

what the actual heck
